sunshine and lollipops
Posted on 18 May 2010 by Greg

Well maybe not lollipops, BUT we have been getting a rather a lot of sunshine.

I organized a small bike trip to mahone bay during one of our particularly awesome days. Basically bike out to the next town (about 11 km) go to a pub called the mug and anchor for some pub foods and pitchers of beer. then pop back on the bikes and come back to Lunenburg.

all in all the trip went really well though we did have some fun getting around a rather large puddle (some of us dryer then others :D).

In other news training for the Blue Nose half marathon is complete. I now simply await the final run day this sunday. Which I'm sure will go well. :D

Next week I might have photos to show off from the marathon (assuming I don't look like complete crap in them)

As far as art stuffs goes I've been doing a lot of lighting work at work which has really opened my eyes to that style of work. Its very interesting learning how to properly setup and test lights, not to mention learning how to properly optimize scenes so that they render/bake faster. very fun stuff. In learning all this I managed to find a really useful tool for anyone doing a lot of work with vertex lighting.
Its called the Vertex Chameleon, and basically it will feel very similar if you are used to photoshop style tools. things like adjusting saturation brightness levels, contrast, levels, and even doing blurs and sharpens are examples of strong tools it gives you. aside from that you also have a layer system that continues to give you more control on how you do your lighting.

Anywho don't take my word for it check it out.

That's all for now, hopefully more images next week.

  Running time
Posted on 27 Mar 2010 by Greg

Training has been going well for the half marathon I'm training for.

this weeks large run will have us running from where the picture below was taken, back into Lunenburg. Lunenburg is actually visible in the image. its the town across the water from where I took it. (roughly 16 km from where I stood taking the photo).

wish us luck :D

time for summer to start :D

So we had our first 15+ weekend and it was glorious. working out outside, going biking along the coast for the first time this year, and doing a 14k run from the Ovens back to Lunenburg was awesome fun. Not to mention sitting on a friends deck playing guitar and drinking beers :D doesn't get much better then that.

PHOTO!

This is a little beach I found while biking.

talk to yea later

Went for my first run outside this year. 10 K from my place out to the peninsula in the photo. It's technically a island but there is a man made road going to it from land.

Looking forward to the coming summer. Here's hoping its as much fun as last summer.
